Smoke risks hamper you

This is the second in a series of seven articles on creating the will to stop smoking. This week, we look at the ‘perceived’ risks of smoking.

IN my last article, we touched on the subject of getting clarity.

We talked about being crystal clear of the fact that cigarettes are just dried leaves wrapped in paper, and it need not be the remote control of our lives that will create risk in our health and life.

In today’s instalment, we are going inward to further understand our inner psyche – how we have become so accustomed to cigarettes.

Whether you are still grateful to your cigarettes for the many pleasures you derive from it at home, or at work, during socialising or having drinks, one fact remains constant – your lungs are still getting contaminated.

And you can’t get replacements.

Only a change of habits and lifestyle is the better option. So let’s get to understanding all those perceived risks out there.

They only exist as long as you give it importance and hold on to it. Let just release these imagined risks and move on.

Step two: Understand risk – determine its real value to you

Consider this fact: Almost every planned activity in life that has failed is mainly because of two reasons.

It is firstly because instructions were not followed closely, and secondly, because those instructions were not fully understood.

I noticed that some of my smoking clients, when they do not fully understand the science of what is in the “Cigarette Slayer” process, they omit some steps or do it wrongly and eventually get the wrong result – they can’t stop!

It’s like a cake recipe done horribly wrongly!

All you get is something that looks like a burnt meteorite from the sky.

Most smokers tend to mention or blame their smoking spouse, buddies or socialising trends as the catalyst to remain smoking.

Remember, smokers and tobacco products is not your focus now.

Your focus must be your commitment to health. Give deep thought to what you will be in the next two years if you continue smoking.

This destiny is not inevitable. Get wise now.

What you must do now

You are not your smoking action! You are just you, and smoking is just your activity.

When you start to realise that, you are actually separate from your smoking activity, and you will begin to see the plain facts of your smoking habit.

If you see yourself now as just a non-smoker most of the day, and that smoking is just an action and activity that you indulge in, then quitting becomes easier with this realisation.

There are many risk factors that encourage you to smoke. Your previous failures to quit may be because of those cigarette packs and cartons in your house, office, or your precious gas lighter, antique pipe or ashtray collection.

Does your spouse or best friend smoke around you and give you a feeling of losing out on the fun, especially, when socialising?

All these are really not risks by themselves but a “perceived risk” in your current thinking. You are a separate entity to these smokers.

Be the Cigarette Slayer! Flush this type of thinking out of that room in your mind.

It is time to get centred within you.

You are now declaring your desire to enjoy the best health standards regardless of what others do to their lives.

You know that there are many ways to get pleasure and satisfaction without risking your life.
