Bernardo Silva and RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo 'have Barca release clauses'

Man City star Bernardo Silva and RB Leipzig winger Dani Olmo ‘have release clause inserted into their new contracts which ONLY Barcelona can trigger’

  • Bernardo Silva reportedly has a £50m release clause in his Manchester City deal
  • The ‘Barcelona clause’ is there in the event that Xavi’s side want to buy the star
  • RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo also has a cut-price clause catered to the Catalans

Bernardo Silva and RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo both reportedly have ‘Barcelona clauses’ in their contracts to ease a move to the Catalan giants should they wish to go.

After signing contract extensions with their current clubs this summer, the two reportedly have ‘affordable termination clauses’ in place should Xavi’s team come hunting for them.

Silva signed a new contract with City until 2026 in August, with officials keen to fend off interest from the Spanish side.

Barca president Joan Laporta admitted he wanted the City star in the summer and it was reported that the midfielder would try and force through a move if they came in for him.

Mundo Deportivo report that Silva only agreed to sign a new deal with a £50million release clause so that Barca could sign him for that amount.

Bernardo Silva reportedly has a clause in his new contract which will allow Barcelona to sign him for £50million

A similar factor applies to Dani Olmo, whose new RB Leipzig deal has a £52m release clause

Meanwhile, according to their report, Olmo’s renewed terms saw him given a £52m release clause for Barca to trigger.

While Silva’s deal expires in 2026, Olmo’s runs out in 2027.

The clause benefits Barcelona who have had crippling financial struggles in the last couple of years.

Mail Sport understands that City were keen to set a valuation of around £100million on one of their most prized players, who has been with the club since 2017.

Meanwhile, Dani Olmo has been with RB Leipzig since 2020 and is known as one of the brightest creative sparks in Europe, also featuring for the Spanish national team on a regular basis.
